Intel chief, Otellini announced in the latest IDF (Intel Developer Forum) that, they are working on a 80 core CPU, which would be capable of delivering teraflop productivity. The CPU itself would be running at around 3GHz. The processor speed is not key, but the performance achieved due to parallelism is amazing. He apparently also demonstrated a prototype.
